Founder Diana Dong grew up in China and worked there in marketing before founding Sussex in Australia. Many of our core management team and our greater workforce have held senior positions not only in Australia, but also in China, India, UAE, Malaysia and Thailand. This, along with an Aus-Asia network of social and influencer partners gives us the ability to quickly find the culturally right strategy for your brand.


In the spring of 1989, a young Diana landed at Sydney airport from Beijing, with no friends, no relatives, no connections of any kind in Australia. Just a year later she made what many considered a bold move – started an agency called Sussex News Advertising (later called Sussex Media). It was not an easy journey as she had more than her fair share of challenges. Being a petite woman with cultural and language barriers in the cut-throat media and advertising industry – she, and the team she built had to work 10 times harder, faster and better than others to survive and grow. Sussex slowly built up a reputation for credibility, and integrity and very importantly must deliver mentality. Over the next 25 years Diana brought together a team of professionals that supported her mantra of credibility and passion.


Today Sussex Australasia still follows that ideal of hard work, care and a passion for clients that was its original formula for success. In its 25 years, Sussex has worked with a strong complement of Australian and Asian companies. With our ever growing level of international expertise and IP, we have created two foci:
